A Voice of Warmth and Light - Like many talented Audiobook Narrators, I have a history in theater and a deep love of reading. But what sets me apart is my experience as a Live Oral Storyteller. I possess a unique ability to bring life to words as a solo performer, regularly captivating audiences of all ages, whether at live events or through the intimacy of headphones. My performances are engaging, with distinct characters and the true storyteller’s variation in pacing and tone. I know what keeps a listener eager to hear more. Stellar reviews attest to my skill.
Each demo selection offers a brief, but complete, scene, allowing you to experience how I present a tale, in addition to hearing emotionally fluid dialog between characters of various genders and ages (and species). All were recorded and mastered in my professional-quality studio. Listen, and consider what I can do with your work.

Once a privileged daughter of the emperor, now exiled to a mountain shrine, Suzume trains to become a priestess serving the god of the mountain. As she toils at the temple, she longs for a life outside. Until she awakens the slumbering god and unmasks the temple’s centuries-old secret. The god is a fake. Five hundred years ago, the shrine’s founder sealed a dragon in a stone. And now that he’s free, he wants revenge. To save the world from the dragon’s wrath, Suzume has to kill him.

When it was first released in 2007, The Shack, a heartbreaking and thought-provoking novel by Wm. Paul Young, sold over 25 million copies worldwide, spent 147 weeks on the bestseller list (50 at #1), and inspired a major motion picture. The long-awaited Return to The Shack will release in October 2026. Hachette Audio has created immersive, multi-cast productions, available on your favorite audiobook site. I'm proud to bring the character of Mack's wife Nan to life, alongside an incredibly talented cast.
In an age where suffering and hardship are all around us, The Shack wrestles with one of humanity’s greatest and most timeless questions: Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?

About Dawn Cromwell
For years, I used to tell people that I had a "Clark Kent" day job, but my superpower was that I was a Professional Oral Storyteller, performing live tales to captivated audiences of all ages. When the pandemic hit, I lost the day job and the live audiences. But, always one to look for the silver lining, I seized the opportunity to finally pursue a decades-long dream of becoming an Audiobook Narrator and Voice Over Artist. Now, I pair my natural storytelling talent with a new range of tales.
I have invested in a professional home studio 🎙️🎧, along with the software and training required to ensure my clients receive high-quality, fully-produced audio recordings that are proofread and clean. I'm experienced in theater and improv, including regular live storytelling performances. 🎭 I participate in ongoing narration training. I'm a member of PANA (Professional Audiobook Narrator Association), NAVA (National Assoc. of Voice Actors), and APA (Audio Publishers Assoc.), and have attended multiple VO Atlanta and Audiobooks at Sea conferences.
When I'm not in my home studio, near Denver, CO, USA, I can usually be found being a kid at a Disney Theme Park, traveling the world on a Disney Cruise, taking road trips through the gorgeous Rocky Mountains with my Dear Husband, or playing with my guinea pigs, Pippin and Samwise.
